On July 16, 2025, the School of Finance and Taxation invited Dr. Wenjuan Zeng from the University of Leeds, UK, to give an academic lecture titled "Introduction to Experience in Publishing International Journal Papers". The lecture, presided over by Vice Dean Lihua Dai, attracted many teachers and students.

Dr. Zeng Wenjuan is a member of the British Higher Education Academy and serves as an editorial board member for several authoritative journals. She has achieved fruitful results in the field of corporate social responsibility and supply chain management. Taking the paper published by her Jordanian doctoral student in a top journal in the field as an example, she systematically analyzed the key points of writing an English paper. She emphasized that the abstract should clearly present the research objectives, methods, conclusions, and contributions; the introduction can highlight the problem through cases or macro data, and combine the literature gaps to introduce the theoretical and practical value. The literature review should focus on the relevant literature of the target journal, critically analyze the top journal results in the past five years, and accurately identify research gaps. The conclusion should be easy to understand, deeply explain the theoretical and practical significance, and compare with previous research.

In addition, Dr. Zeng pointed out that submissions should align with the journal's focus, emphasize logicality and conciseness of language, and reasonably control the scope of research. She provided a detailed analysis of the review process and common errors. She suggested that scholars pay more attention to selecting topics related to current news and focus on theoretical explanatory power rather than length. She also shared the assessment criteria for young teachers in foreign universities and the differences between Chinese and English writing.

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Zeng interacted with the teachers and students on issues such as ABS journal rankings and review communication skills, providing valuable guidance for improving academic writing and publishing abilities.
