Look Back on a Century of Journey, Reflect on the Glorious University History —— Orientation Activity for 2025 Postgraduates of the School of Public Finance and Taxation

　　Toguide students to deeply understand the university’s century-longeducational journey and comprehend the spiritual connotation of themotto "Integrity, Acumen, Integrity, and Perseverance," theSchool of Public Finance and Taxation organized an orientationactivity for 2025 postgraduates at Kairui Museum of Culture andHistory on October18.

　　Asan important carrier of JUFE’s culture, Kairui Museum of Cultureand History has witnessed the university’s century-long strivingjourney. Upon entering the museum, the school motto "Integrity,Acumen, Integrity, and Perseverance" inscribed on thebook-shaped building caught the students’ eyes, arousing theirstrong interest. Subsequently, the large-scale originalpaintingProsperityof the FinanceCampusbyalumni Wang Tianxing delighted the students. The painting depictsfour mountains, one lake, and iconic red buildings, with the hiddencharacters "1978" silently telling the history and glory ofthe university since itsrestoration.

　　Thesecond floor of the university history museum presents theextraordinary development of the school over a century and theglorious years of struggle of generations of JUFE people througheight chapters. This is a materialized presentation of spirit and aconcrete expression of original aspiration. The scroll of historyunfolds slowly from 1923, from the establishment of JiangxiProvincial Commercial School to its upgrading to Jiangxi Universityof Finance and Economics after the founding of New China. Every stageof JUFE’s development has been frozen in time in the museum.Yellowed photos, faded images, and slightly mottled school badges alltell the story of generations of JUFE people’s dedication tolearning amid era changes, which are the most vivid interpretationsof the motto "Integrity, Acumen, Integrity, andPerseverance."

　　Thespirit of JUFE continues to thrive. Today, the university continuesto make efforts in talent cultivation, scientific research, socialservices, cultural inheritance, and international exchanges, steadilyadvancing the construction of a first-classuniversity.

　　Acentury-old JUFE passes on the torch. Through this visit, studentsdeeply felt the spiritual heritage of the university’s century-longdevelopment and further enhanced their sense of identity andbelonging to the school. As a new generation of JUFE students, weshould take our predecessors as models, inherit this spiritualwealth, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of theuniversity and the country with a pioneering and innovativeattitude.

　　Walkinginto JUFE’s University History Museum, I felt the warmthaccumulated over time. The yellowed educational documents and oldlesson plans hide the perseverance of the early days of theuniversity; the achievements of alumni in the financial and economicfields reflect the inheritance of the motto "Integrity, Acumen,Integrity, and Perseverance." What touched me most was the datain the "Serving the Local Community" exhibition area:hundreds of thousands of financial and economic talents have rootedin Jiangxi and become the backbone of regional development. This mademe understand that JUFE’s history is a history of dedication togrowing with the local community. Walking out of the museum, theoriginal aspiration of "Dedication to Work, Joy in Fellowship,and Striving for Perfection" became clearer, and I gained adeeper sense of awe for the responsibility of being a "financialand economicprofessional."

　　Inthe dawn light, the university history museum is like an amber oftime, condensing a century of vicissitudes in a small space. Thenarrator’s words brought warmth to this history. What touched memost was the design of the school emblem: the ancient copper coindesign of "round on the outside and square on the inside"reflects the Chinese traditional culture’s advocacy of "perfection"and the philosophical thought of "heaven is round and earth issquare, harmony between heaven and man," while highlighting theuniversity’s distinctive feature of focusing on finance andeconomics. The pioneering path of predecessors in the field offinance and taxation is a vivid footnote to this motto. Walking outof Kairui Museum of Culture and History, the sun shone on the name"Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics," and I deeplyrealized that we are the continuators of the university’s historytoday.

　　Steppinginto JUFE’s University History Museum, time seemed to flow in asmall space. The yellowed photos show young and firm faces, and theold lecture notes are covered with the traces of predecessors. Therusted instruments in the glass cabinets silently tell the arduousscientific research years. Walking slowly along the exhibitioncorridor, from the thatched cottages and earthen steps in the earlydays to the numerous buildings today, every frozen frame of historyheld my breath. The motto "Integrity, Acumen, Integrity, andPerseverance" constantly reminds us that these are the solidfoundation for JUFE people to forge ahead. This visit allowed me totruly touch the blood inheritance of JUFE. Those objects polished bytime are more powerful than any sermon. Standing on the shoulders ofgiants to look forward to the future, we should cherish the presentand write a new chapter belonging to our generation on this fertilesoil that has been cultivated for manyyears.
